Nagaland Alliance for Children and Women’s Right (NACWR) Peren Chapter organized a legal awareness programme on October 15 at Ndunglwa village, Peren district on the theme “awareness on children and women’s right”.
Resource persons included advocate, director C-Cerp, co-ordinator, NACWR Liangsi Niumai; legal advisor, NACWR, Enchang; advocate, C-Cerp, NACWR, Inlum Hoinrang.
Liangsi Niumai implored upon the participants to take good cause of God’s gift –children with reference from the Bible verse Mark 10: 13-17 and strongly declared that children were not the property of the parents.
She reminded the participants to give time to children and that hurting children’s sentiment itself was exploitation. She also mentioned that children imitate the elders, so to set good example and be a role model to the children.
She further deliberated on gender equality and quoted that women were no more second class citizens and encouraged the menfolk to take care of the women because it was their right. She challenged the community leaders to be more active and act without fear while fighting for their right.
The programme was moderated by president, ZCYAN, Paulamle Sephe, invocation by associate pastor, Ndunglwa Baptist Church and benediction by treasurer, ZBCC, Irui Kenn.
