Sanu Gupta, daughter of Late Prahlad Gupta became the lucky winner of the free GNIIT course worth Rs.1.72 Lakh at NIIT Dimapur Center on Saturday.
Om Prakash Sethi, president, Jain Samaj and Marwari Samaj and K. K. Paul (Advocate), president Bengali Samaj and honorary secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Dimapur District Branch did the honors of drawing out the winner. Speaking on the occasion, both the presidents lauded the efforts of Ajay Sethi, Director NIIT Dimapur center for creating IT awareness amongst the masses for the last 16 years, besides being an active social worker through Red Cross, Lions Club, Jain School, CII & NIIT itself in particular. Paul highlighted on the responsibility of the leaders to have an effective mechanism for the dissemination of various government and private schemes’ related information to the respective communities to avail the best possible advantages as and when possible.
Earlier, Ajay Sethi, director NIIT Dimapur lamented the fact that only 30 candidates had applied for the job-guaranteed free GNIIT scheme despite Nagaland having 1 Lakh unemployed youth.
He hoped that the various leaders would pro-actively spread any such schemes’ information in future to the respective communities in a time bound manner to benefit them.
Congratulating the free course winner, he also exhorted other applicants to remain in touch with the center so that his team could assist them in getting governmental or NGOs assistance for pursuing diploma courses with NIIT. This is a CSR activity of the company celebrating the completion of 35 years of NIIT nationally & 16 years in Nagaland.
