Holy Spirit Church Vidima was blessed by bishop of Kohima, Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil on November 27, while monolith was unveiled by Dr. John Murry and church inaugurated by financial administrator, diocese of Kohima, Rev. Dr. George Punnolil.
Holy Eucharist was officiated by Bishop James and twelve priests concelebrated.
Bishop in his introduction congratulated Fr. Sajan and his parish team, particularly the community of Vidima for completing the construction of the new Church.
He said that it was not only well constructed and beautify but every church is built on the grace of God.
Bishop further spoke about the relevance and importance of advent that starts with the first Sunday of Advent.
He said that our advent preparation was to meet Christ who became Immanuel at a certain decisive moment in history, at Christmas.
During the celebration 21 people received the sacrament of confirmation and eight received the first communion.
Dominic Yasokie, during the felicitation programme, welcomed all and anchored the programme. Songs, choreography, duet were the special items of the day.
Dr. John Murry in his speech said that every good act was initiated by one and others join the effort and bring to completion that initiative.
Church secretary, Valentine gave a brief history of the Church and gave short account of the work and expenses of the Church construction.
Hilarius, the Catechist proposed vote of thanks and Rev. Fr. Mathew Thuniampral, director Shalom, said the grace.
Many priests, sisters, delegates from Kohima, Dimapur, Chumukedima, pastors of different denominations, village chairman and other invited guests attended.
