The 44th biennial general conference of Northern Angami Students’ Union (NASU) concluded on December 18 with DIG, Fire and Emergency Services Neilasa Sopfü as the guest of honour at Rüsoma village.
Addressing the gathering, Sopfü said that it was time for the students’ to question oneself whether they were fit and able to compete. He also said that students these days had become lazy and wastes their time in wrong ways. Opining that a person should be dedicated and have determination to become a successful person, Sopfü spoke about some prominent leaders in the world who had initially come from low status life. He said it was because of their untiring effort and hard work that had made them what they were today.
Sopfü challenged the students to be more sincere and hard working and also urged the NASU out going executives and the incoming executives to give their best for the welfare of the students’ society and to be good leaders. Meanwhile NASU also elected its new team of office bearers for the tenure 2017-19 headed by Kevilelhou Zumu as president, Zhapuneituo Zhale as general secretary, Aso Khana as treasurer and seven other members. The valedictory programme was chaired by Khriezotuolie Francis while invocation was pronounced by Khrieo Mezhü Pastor CRC Rüsoma.
