YVC questions PPC’s demand

Yachem Village Council (YVC) while expressing “shock” over Phom Peoples’ Council (PPC)’s demand for suspension of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Longleng has demanded the latter to clarify within three days as to why it has sought suspension.

A press release by YVC chairman, M. Imti Phom asked “in what intention and motive” PPC has PPC had sought the suspension of the Deputy Commissioner, Longleng. 

The village council has asked PPC to point out the DC’s “weaknesses and shortcomings while performing his official duty on January 31, 2017 regarding the ULB election.” Failing to respond in a stipulate time, YVC said it would “initiate its own course of action.”
