Villages nullify EDTC statement

Reacting to the statement of East Dimapur Tribal Council (EDTC), published on March 7, the council leaders and GBs of eight villages clarified that EDTC was “non-existent” as far as they were concerned.
Sessional chairman, Vitokhu Achumi, and sessional secretary, DS Gurung, said an emergency meeting was held on March 11, at Toluvi village in connection with EDTC statement, attended by council leaders and GBs of eight villages. At the meeting, the house appreciated the two individuals for taking up the issue to construct a temporary suspension bridge for the convenience of the public. However, the house stated that “there is no existence of the so called East Dimapur Tribal Council (EDTC)” as far as eight villages were concerned.
Further, the house vehemently condemned and nullified the press statement issued by Tohoshe Awomi and Medovie Koza, who claimed to be chairman and secretary respectively of EDTC.
