Literary Committee of Mount Tiyi College (MTC) organized its first “Open Poetry Slam Competition” under the theme “Express yourself and celebrate who you are” on March 4.
The competition was conducted on three categories – solo, group of 2 to 5 and group of 6 to 10.
In the solo category, first position was bagged Randanbemo Tsanglao of B.A. 4th semester 2nd Yanbenthung M.Ngullie B.A.4th semester and 3rd Achanthung L.Kithan, 4th semester. In group of 2-5, The Wakers team was adjudged 1st, team Feb 14 and team Hilarious 2nd and 3rd respectively. In the group of 6-10 category team COC Awakening was adjudged 1st, team A Star7 2nd and team The Remixers 3rd.
All the winners were awarded cash prizes and certificates. A special prize for the most outstanding performer was bagged by Michael Ezung of B.A.4th Semester.
It was also announced that the original poems would be published in the college magazine.
