Govt. should encourage craftsmen in state: Gov

Governor of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, PB Acharya has opined that government should encourage the craftsmen and entrepreneurs by organising exhibitions across the state from time to time.
According to a press statement by PRO, Raj Bhavan, the governor expressed delight in seeing so much talent amongst the Naga people during his visit to the National Handloom Expo held at the Gurkha Panchayat Public Ground, Chandmari, Kohima, Thursday. 
Acharya stated that an exhibition of such kind should be held at least once a year in metro cities of the county to boost and encourage the talents of the local people. He also asked entrepreneurs to take up their profession seriously and added that entrepreneurs could avail the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana which mainly focuses on small and micro level businesses where the interest rates of the loan are affordable and low when compared with other bank’s interest rates.  
Wife of the Governor, Kavita Acharya, also commented that the handlooms and crafts showcased at the pavilion were priceless and appreciated all participants for their wonderful work. 
The governor also appealed the public to visit the ongoing exhibition and to encourage the artisans who have come to take part. Acharya also thanked the Minister of Textiles, Government of India, Irani for her initiative in sponsoring the exhibition. The 15-days handloom expo is being organised by the Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Cooperation Ltd and sponsored by the Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
