Women sericulturists’ training on eri host plants plantations

KOHIMA, MAR 29 (NPN): District Sericulture Office, Kohima organised 8-day long training on Eri host plants plantation and improved silkworm rearing technologies from March 9-21 under IESDP(NERTPS) 2016-17 at various blocks within Kohima district.
During the training, about five hundred women sericulturists were trained on the different types of food plants available for silkworm rearing, methods of cultivation of the main food plants of Eri i.e, Castor and Kessuru with on field demonstration, improved silkworm rearing technologies, economics of Ericulture, disease and pests management of Eri silkworm host plants and Eri silkworm.
The training started in two blocks, namely Tseminyu town and Chunlika at Tseminyu on March 9-10. Trainings for beneficiaries of Jakhama, Chiephobozou, Kohima villages were organised at Khonoma Rufunuo hall at ‘D’ block, Kohima from March 15-21.
The resource persons for the training were asst. sericulture officer Yingsungbeni Ngully, extension officer Keneizetuo Khro, extension agent Henwalo Lorin, seri supervisor and Atenjemba Imchen and Thepfuroko.
