NSCN/GPRN condoles demise of M.Kikon

The NSCN/GPRN on Monday held a condolence service of senior NSCN/GPRN functionary, late Mhonsao Kikon (M. Kikon), Steering Executive Member, at his residence at Ekhyo Yan (Domokhia).
In a press note, MIP NSCN/GPRN stated that late M.Kikon passed away on April 9 at Zion Hospital after prolonged illness.
Senior NSCN functionaries including collective leadership member, Qhevihe Chishi Swu, kilo kilonser Rh. Raising, and co-convener Steering Committee, Zarshie Nyuthealong with other Steering Committee members and cabinet kilonsers attended the service. 
During the service, Rh. Raising and Zarshie read out the condolence messages of ato kilonser Th. Muivah and vice-president Kholi respectively. Reverend Sekshim Kasar, general secretary of Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) after delivering message from the words of God conducted a condolence rite to the congregation.
MIP informed that late M.Kikon was born in 1942 and at the young age joined in the Naga national movement under banner of NNC and later became the 3rd president of NNC (N/A) after Shillong Accord was signed. 
Then he joined NSCN in 2002 and held various post as the convener, Political Affairs Committee (PAC) to look after the affairs of UT-I in 2008, convener (Chief Justice) of National Judiciary Board (NJB) 2009-2010, cabinet kilonser of Mines & Mineral 2010-2012 and Steering Committee Member 2012-2017, MIP added.
The mortal remain of late M.Kikon shall be brought to his native Baghty village, Wokha district for his last funeral rite.
In its condolence message, MIP said his passing away was a great loss not only to the family members but also to the nation as whole. 
“With great pain the GPRN extends our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prays that Almighty God grant solace at this hour of grief,” the message read.
Muivah condoles: Ato kilonser NSCN/GPRN, Th. Muivah has condoled the demise of late M.Kikon who passed away on Sunday at Zion Hospital after a prolonged illness.
In a condolence message, Muivah recounted their meeting when late M.Kikon as president of the then NNC (N/A) along with Zibu Nagi,  ‘gen.’ (Rtd)  Thenusolie and ‘gen.’ (Rtd) Panger with the collective leadership in Bangkok, where M.Kikon and his team decided to merge with NSCN to strengthen the Indo-Naga political talks. Accordingly he joined forces with NSCN while others went back upon their words, Muivah said, adding M.Kikon proved himself as a man of decision and stood his ground when the storm of unification rocked the nation.
Muivah said M.Kikon fully endorsed and supported the Framework Agreement and despite his ill health, he faithfully worked for the cause of the nation.
“Today we have lost a strong leader who had given his everything for the cause of Naga nation,” the message read, adding his supreme sacrifice to the Naga nation shall always be remembered and cherished.
Muivah, on behalf of the collective leadership and all rank and file of NSCN, conveyed their condolence to the bereaved family.
Kholi condoles: Gen (Retd) Kholi also condoled the demise of late M.Kikon who passed away on Sunday.
In a condolence message, Kholi said the Nation had lost a great leader, leaving a vacuum in the National service that will not be easy to fill.
His noble and sacrificial contribution for the cause of the nation does not end with his mortal departure, but he has left an exemplary legacy as honest, dedicated, humble and always-available worker to the call of National duty, the message read.
Kholi said late M.Kikon dedicatedly and selflessly served the Naga nation with the best of his knowledge and to the fullest satisfaction of all concerned.
He further conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that God gives them solace during their hour of grief.
