Modern College conducted its 1st convocation programme of B.Voc in Retail Management & IT (Sales Associate- NSQF Level 4) on April 12 with Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) president, Jabou Sekhose as special guest.
B.Voc (Bachelor of Vocation) is a regular 3 years degree course under UGC (University Grants Commission of India). It is a new initiative by Government of India to align higher education with the emerging needs of the economy so as to ensure that the graduates of higher education system have adequate knowledge and skills for employment and entrepreneurship.
On the occasion managing director, Pelee Hekha also shared on the need to shift the educational system from knowledge based to skill based. A brief report on the course was highlighted by coordinator, John Besii. Certificates were given away by the special guest Jabou Sekhose in the presence of parents, guardians, well wishers, teachers and students. Earlier assistant professor Younus Parvez gave words of welcome while a special song was presented by Arenchilla of class 12 Science. The programme was compered by W. Anyile Riste.
