ICAR-NRC on Mithun, Medziphema holds 10th research advisory meet

The 10th Research Advisory Meeting of ICAR-National Research Centre (ICAR-NRC) on Mithun, Medziphema was held on May 2.
At the meeting, ICAR-NRC on Mithun, director Dr. Abhijit Mitra, presented a brief account of the progress made by the Institute during the last one year.
Dr. Dharmeswar Das, chairman RAC, in his opening remark, appreciated the efforts made by the Institute and emphasised the need of prioritisation of the research areas. He further urged to take up the research projects to delineate the uniqueness of Mithun.
The committee members visited the Mithun Farm at Medziphema and took an account of the farm activities.
The committee members also lauded the effort of ICAR-NRCM for the implementation of artificial insemination (AI) in the Institute Mithun Farm.
During the last one year, 11 calves were born in the farm through artificial insemination.
The meeting was attended by RAC chairman Dr. Dharmeswar Das, Dr. R. S. Gandhi, ADG (AP & B), ICAR, New Delhi, Dr. Kusumakar Sharma, former ADG, Dr. K. K. Baruah, ex-director, NRC on Yak, Dr. A. Chakravarty, director research, C. V. Sc, Khanapara, IMC member Jaangsillung Gonmei, IMC member Lachit Kachari and all the scientists of the institutes. Vote of thanks was delivered by member secretary Dr. Nazrul Haque.
