ERO-Net training conducted in Wka

Training on ERO-Net was conducted on Monday for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of Wokha district here at DC conference hall, Wokha with Assistant Election Officer (AEO) Wokha and State Level Master Trainer Toshimongba Longchar as resource person.
Addressing the BLOs, Longchar explained that ERO-Net was an Election Commission of India (ECI) portal where all election related activities of the country would be connected to a single server to keep track of form fillings, errors and multiple entry corrections, status of submitted applications including approval, rejection or scheduled hearings, and check lists for field verifications. The entire ECI workflow including E-Roll and EPIC generation would be captured on ERO-Net using features like monitoring dashboards, mobile apps, alerts and notifications.
Longchar said that ERO-Net would facilitate efficient form processing, simplified dashboards, role based access, maintenance of e-rolls, family information, easy migration from one constituency to another by facilitating seamless communication between the EROs of two constituency where de-duplication would also be taken care of while including entries in the E-roll, EPIC portability – migration from one constituency to another while retaining the same EPIC number, and online form processing.
The master trainer also explained that ERO-Net would enable various services to external stakeholders, and also help in improving efficiency and decision making of internal stakeholders. Towards this end, he said, ERO-Net was envisioned keeping in mind the mandate of ECI – that no eligible voter be left behind irrespective of his language or physical ability. ERO-Net strives to make an applicant’s entry in E-Roll unambiguous and error free without much of a hassle where a humongous machinery of ECI comprising of more than 9.94 lakh personnel was working behind the scenes to achieve the goal, he added.
AEO Wokha also informed the BLOs to collect documents as proof of residence and identity to cross check electors’ photos and identities in the ongoing colour photography campaign. In this regard, he informed that any of following documents may be submitted by the electors: Aadhaar card, bank passbook, ration card, passport, driving license, matric admit card, service ID card.
