Govt seeks fund for urban development

Advisor Urban Development, S.I. Jamir on Tuesday called union minister of state for Urban Development, Rao Inderjit Singh and sought Central assistance from the Centre to take up various pending projects for the state.
Jamir appealed the Centre to release funds under 10 per cent Lumpsum Scheme, against the projects submitted by the state government to the Ministry. Jamir also informed the minister that various projects were vetted by the ministry during 2016-17, but no sanction was accorded to any project. 
In view of the same, a reprioritized list of vetted projects was handed over by Jamir to the minister at the latter’s office in Nirman Bhavan, New Delhi. 
Jamir also apprised the minister that the projects were in accordance with the Flagship Schemes of the Government of India and encompasses various components of Urban Development which would enhance the quality of life for the urban populace of the state. 
The Union Minister assured full support of the Centre towards expediting the sanction of the said projects at an early date.
