
With a cent percent score in Mathematics, Science and Social science, Deepa Mishra (16) of Holy Cross Higher Secondary School (HCHSS) Dimapur topped the HSLC exam 2017, in the state.
Deepa, daughter of Lakshman Mishra, who is a Math teacher in HCHSS and a resident of NST colony, topped the exam with 97.6 %.
She attributed her success to God, her family, friends and teachers. According to her, concentration in class was her success mantra.
The self-confessed “late rise” said she studied for 3-4 hours daily throughout the year and had taken private English and Hindi tuitions only during the last three months before examination. She further aims to become a cardiologist if not a professor. HCHSS, vice principal Sister carol, was deemed with pride over Deepa’s success result and her decision to continue HSSLC in the same school.
PVHSS boys top HSSLC science and commerce exam: Piklu Paul, son of Protul Ranjan Paul, of Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School (PVHSS) Dimapur, secured top position in the HSSLC science exam(94.80%) securing highest marks in Physics, Chemistry and MIL by studying 14-15 hours daily three months before the examination.
Paul, who wants to be a software engineer, said he started his year studying three subjects four to five hours daily and the hours gradually increased.
He credited his success to God, principal, subject teachers, family and friends. Piklu is yet to decide his next step for further studies.
Rajdeep Nath, who wants to be a chartered accountant also from PVHSS, Dimapur topped HSSLC (Commerce) with 95%. He is opting to study B.Com with honours and MBA afterwards. Rajdeep, son of Sukhamay Nath who is a mechanic, says his father and family will decide for him about his next step. He credited his principal, subject teachers and his best friend who, he said, has encouraged and motivated him to be in the top position.
In HSSLC Arts stream, Elozüo M Saprüna of Ministers’ Hill Baptist Hr.Sec.School, Kohima secured the top position with 94.20%. However, Elozüo could not be contacted for interview.
