One-day training for rural farmers

One-day training programme for the rural farmers was conducted at Kezoma village by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Kohima on May 1.
The programme was conducted in three technical sessions with scientist K. Michael Pienyii, scientist Zhiete and scientist Imtisenla as resource persons.
K. Michael Pienyii highlighted on the activities and mandates of the KVK. 
Imtisenla gave a lecture on SRI, where she elaborated on the benefits, its importance and economical aspects. Zhiete spoke on the soil nutrient conservation by using Dhiancha as a green manure crop. 
K. Michael Pienyii deliberated on the management of insect pests of paddy which was one of the major factors affecting the production and productivity. Pienyii requested the farmers to conserve the natural enemies of the insect pests.
The programme was chaired by training assistant Keviyieno Zhasa.
