Book on ‘Suki’s magic box’ released

A book on “Suki’s magic box” written by a 10-year old girl, Sochumlo Suki Ezung of class 5 studying at G. Rio school Kohima was released by secretary Nagaland State Social Welfare Board and mission director State Resources Centre for Women, Daisy Mezhür at conclave hall LCS building Kohima on Wednesday.
Mezhür in her address expressed joy to release the book written by a girl child and opined that she would be an ambassador of adolescent girl of Nagaland one day. She called upon the society to consider girl child as an asset and educate them to know their talent. She encouraged the author to dream more and even write more books in future.
Publisher PenThrill Publication house, Vishü rita Krocha in her publisher’s note described the writer as truly a “magic” and “amazing” to accomplished a book at just 10-year old.  Krocha said that the author at this age was already conscious of the world around her, values life, cares for friends and family, for peace and love to reign in the world. 
Publisher said the author beautifully put her stories together, reflecting her concern for our environment which needed much attention.
Sochumlo Suki Ezung in her address said that she grew up with lots of songs and stories and when her mum bought notepad to keep her occupied in the church, she started writing songs and stories. She said that her imagination, conversation and real life experiences become part of her story.
The programme was chaired by Mimi Dimasa Suohu, invocation prayer said by Mhonchumo Lotha associate pastor Kohima Lotha Baptist church, introduction of author shared by Akumtila Kikon, special song was presented by Vitshuseinuo Solo, few thoughts from the illustrator by Yimyanglula Longkumer and vote of thanks by Meripeni Zares Ezung, mother of the author.
Programme was attended by host of Naga writers, G. Rio School HSS managing director, author’s friends, class mates and family members, church leaders and others.
Suki’s magic box book contents 9 chapters with original drawing and sketches with colouring, published by PenThrill publication house Billy Graham road Kohima, edited by Paolo Nukhu and priced at Rs. 300.
