Various organisations have condemned the murder attempt on the life of Benri Mozhui on May 8 at Duncan Bosti, Dimapur.
CNTC: The Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) has vehemently condemned the dastardly shooting and the assassination bid made on one of its bonafide member, Benri Mozhui. CNTC through its media cell has demanded that a befitting action be taken on those perpetrators conniving with non-locals against a Naga brother.
CNTC also sternly warned those non-locals conniving with local people indulging in such behavior would result in dire consequences. CNTC stated that such “armed intrusions inside our own homes by non-locals scheming with local people should never be taken lightly”. The CNTC has asked “all citizens, both overgrounds and undergrounds to stop patronizing anti-socials” which was detrimental for a peaceful society. It has urged the authorities to investigate promptly into the incident and book those involved at the earliest. CNTC further conveyed its sympathy to the injured and prayed for speedy recovery.
DDGBA: Dimapur District GBs Association (DDGBA) in a condemnation note by president Tokuho Niho and I&P secretary, Akhu Gangmei vehemently condemned the murder attempt on Benri Mozhui.
DDGBA stated that it was a matter of great concern that the perpetrators could break into an officer’s house and tried to kill him by “taking law so frivolously”. DDGBA also stated its concern for the “ongoing shameless trend of collaboration with non-Naga in crimes ventures” which has gripped society and needed to be dealt with an iron hand. Association urged Dimapur police department to exercise their power under the law without any hesitation and apprehend the culprits at the earliest.
DDLGBU: Dimapur District Lotha GBs Union (DDLGBU) in a condemnation note by general secretary, Kenneth Tsopoe has vehemently condemned the inhuman act which has no place in civilised society. DDLGBU also urged upon the law enforcing agencies to nab the culprits and punishment be meted out as per the law. It also stated that such actions should not be repeated in the days to come.
DNME: Dimapur Nkonjan Mozhui Ekhung (DNME) in a condemnation note by chairman, Rakomo Mozhui and secretary, Chenirao Mozhui also urged the law enforcing agency to apprehend the culprit and award exemplary punishment at the earliest.
LYOD: Lotha Youth Organisation Dimapur has taken serious note of the murder attempt on the life of Benri Mozhui. A condemnation note by LYOD president, Mhonchumo Ovung while condemning the dastardly act has also urged the competent authority to arrest the culprits at the earliest.
