
All Commercial Vehicle Association (ACVA) Wokha observed its third foundation day on May 17 under the theme ‘Each endeavoring, all achieving.’
A press note by ACVA president Y. Bankathung Lotha and general secretary, Renbi Ngullie stated that during the meeting held at Lotha Tribal Council Hall the house unanimously resolved to stick strongly to its earlier slogan of ‘One Government One Tax’ and also passed four resolutions.
It stated that in case of intimidation/ harassment meted to any of the office bearers, members or vehicles of ACVA Wokha relating to taxation from any NPGs/ factions or individuals, the person/s concerned would be held totally responsible; if any Wokha bound commercial vehicle driver or owner was found paying tax to any of the NPG/ factions the same person shall be held fully responsible for all the commercial vehicles of the entire district; ACVA drivers/owners have been requested not to indulge in transporting of alcohols, drugs or engage in rash driving and also surprise checking would also be conducted whenever the situation demands and stern action would be initiated against the defaulters and if any person found collecting any form of tax or extorting from any of the ACVA vehicles the same would be realized from the concerned person and if the concerned could not be contacted, then the amount would be realized from the concerned family members/parents.
A rally was also organised from the public ground to IOC fuel station and Essar fuel station and assembled at public ground.
The house also elected new office bearers to be led by Y. Bankathung Lotha as president, C. Renbi Ngullie as general secretary along with 12 others as members.
The house also created an action committee to be headed by Khonthungo Kikon as convener and Khyodemo Ezung as co-convener.
