Recently formed Nagaland Congress (NC) continues to cite RTI responses to expose questionable practices in the government over appointment of employees and in the latest, it has taken on the Agri department over the process of recruitment/appointments as on October 13, 2016.
Furnishing details based on the RTI response from the Directorate of Agriculture , NC media cell pointed out that “only 10% of total regularized employees in the department were appointed through NPSC; 0.4% through combine recruitment exam and 1% on compassionate ground & on deputation.”
NC alleged that the rest (90% regularized employees) were appointed either “directly” or through “questionable” departmental process.
It further pointed out that contractual appointment of 206 ATMA employees were made by the department and 64 KVK employees through interview board.
Nagaland Congress has issued the district-wise breakup of appointments. (See Table)
Maintaining that there was no rationality under the “so called departmental appointment”, NC said from a high 80% (Longleng) or 74% (Zunheboto) to a low 31% (directorate) or 40% (Dimapur), the nature of departmental appointment only proved manipulative.
Likewise, NC said in the case of appointment through NPSC, a low 3% (Kiphire) or 4% (Wokha) to a high 13% (Phek) or 12% (Dimapur) only indicated that it was random done. Further, NC said direct appointments of a high 55% (directorate) or 48% (Dimapur) to a low 16% (Longleng) or 21% (Phek) only spoke about “system-less appointment at will.”
NC said it would continue to expose backdoor appointments in departments by bringing out facts and figures.
“Youth unrest was a very serious problem but elected government is least concerned,” said NC, urging all serious-minded people to join hands with the party on the task to bring desired change.
