Renowned Naga artistes Nise Meruno and Alobo Naga will be sharing the stage for an acoustic live performance on May 27 at Kuda Café, Kuda Village, Dimapur from 7 p.m. onwards.
In a chat with Nagaland Post for the event, Nise said, “We are performing live purely for the love of music and to let people hear a unique collaboration of two different music genres.”
Both the artistes have made remarkable achievements in their own fields with Alobo known for his contemporary rock element and Nise Meruno based strongly in Western Classical music.
Nise added that they were coming together to try and attempt to bridge the two diverse worlds and break down barriers to make music as “One”.
The live performance is not the first time the two artistes will be collaborating as they have also earlier collaborated on a Ed Sheeran’s hit, ‘Thinking Out Loud’ where Voices of Hope and Zowe Madrigal.
Nise also disclosed that the setting will during the live performance will be very casual and they will be doing mostly popular songs in their own renditions.
Answering to a question why they were holding their collaborative performance in a café, Nise said, “We mostly perform on concert stages and we thought it will be a good idea to let people hear us in a more personal way so we wanted a cafe ambience. We want our music to reach others in the most intimate manner.”
The concert goer will be treated with a clean and simple sound with just the piano and acoustic guitar. The two artistes have also promised to play popular songs people love and in the most authentic version which would truly make the night a memorable one.
