1st Edition of Nagaland Fashion Week 2017

INTERNATIONAL INITIATIVE TO EMPOWER YOUTH AND WOMEN TOWARDS SELF-EMPLOYEMENT 
Delhi Fashion Club with the Support of Nagaland Government is proud to announce the Official First Edition of Nagaland Fashion Week In New Delhi which will be held somewhere in Aug/Sept 2017, This announcement has been done on Thursday at Press conference at Nagaland House in New Delhi in presence of Jyoti Kalash, Principle resident commissioner of Nagaland House in Delhi. The governor and chief minister of Nagaland have appreciated and supported this event. The motive of this show is to Celebrate Culture, Textile and Tourism Internationally with Participation of not only Designers from Nagaland but whole nation and world. Giving the local talents like models, designers and waivers an international Exposure. It will be promoting Handlooms and Handicraft industry of Nagaland for which association is done with NHHDC (Nagaland Handloom and Handicraft Corporation Ltd) .
The founder of Nagaland Fashion week Harshit Dhingaun, Delhi based known personality among youth as chairman of Delhi Fashion Club  and Online Bollywood VJ.
Associate creative director, Delhi Fashion Club and Co- Founders are Ethiel Konyak,  Ex- Super model  is  regional head  in Nagaland and Esther Arenla Jamir, women entrepreneur and social worker will be taking care of Delhi operation as Delhi regional head.
On the announcement, Harshit Dhingaun, chairman, Delhi Fashion Club and founder of Nagaland Fashion Week said “NFW will be Nagaland’s and North-east India’s first premier international fashion week. It aims to promote the Naga culture, revive local textile, handicraft and handlooms, along with tourism promotion by creating more awareness about Naga and North east fashion culture globally through fashion shows, cultural activities, music and exhibition. This 3-day event will be hosted in the fashion capital “Delhi” giving it a National and International appeal.
On the announcement, Esther Arenla Jamir, Delhi regional head, Nagaland Fashion week said Nagaland fashion week in Delhi is the initiative to creating employment hubs for job, weaning away the misguided youths, bridging and giving opportunity to the North East of India and to empower women. Delhi Fashion Club in collaboration with  ‘Nagaland Handloom & Handicraft Development Corporation’  is persistently  working to make this venture worthwhile for the benefit of the youths.  
On the occasion senior member of Delhi Fashion Club and advisor for NFW, Ratnadeep Lal, chairman, IIFT (International Institute of Fashion Technology ) announced “To develop the youth resource of Nagaland we would like to contribute by  sponsoring 10 and more deserving and eligible students from Nagaland in field of  fashion designing , this scheme will be valid all across India. If Nagaland Governement support , we would like to take Nagaland students to paris and London for international exposure and create job opportunities for them world wide. Not only this we will giving 10-15% discount to all the students from Nagaland so that they can contribute in nations growth. We are very happy to be a part of organizing team of Nagaland fashion week.” The event was highly appreciated by nationally acclaimed FDCI designer Sonia Jetleey and Linda Newmai, member of Central  board of film cooperation ( CBFC ) who were also present at press conference.
Along with it there were student unions from different tribes were also present for support.
The event kickstart around Aug/Sept 2017 in Delhi at (IGNCA) Inidra Gandhi national centre for arts, Applications are now open and forms will be out offline and online on www.nagalandfashionweek.com supporting digital India.
