Nagaland regional K-POP cover contest on July 1

The 1st edition of the Nagaland regional round for the international “K-POP cover contest” organized by KPOP Dream team Nagaland and supported by Rattle & Hum Music society would be held on July 1, 4:30pm at RCEMPA hall Jotsoma with president R&HMS Theja Meru as the chief guest.
This was announced by managing director Ezomongo Xaiyi Humtsoe during the press conference held at Dream café Kohima on Thursday also attended by event co-ordinator Senchumbeni Kithan, event manager Setolii Veswuh, graphic artist Imnajungla Jathy and Artist manger Sedengulie Tiitsiiliu.
14 teams from different districts of Nagaland are participating in cover song and cover dance competition. The winner in cover song and cover dance would receive Rs. 5,000 and Rs.6, 000 respectively and would represent the state in the grand finale of national level to be held on July 29 at Talkatora stadium New Delhi. The 1st and 2nd runners-up of both categories would receive Rs. 4,000 and 3,000 each respectively. The winner team in the grand finale would be nominated for 2017 K-pop world festival and would get the complimentary trip to Korea.    
Organizers said the judges for the cover song would be Edwin Kubzar the winner of KPOP cover song contest 2013, for cover dance the Elemenz North east KPOP cover dance winner 2014 and one judge from Korea. Some guest artistes also coming from Manipur on July 1. Organizing team informed that the entry is free for all on July 1 at RCEMPA Jotsoma.  
The organizers informed that K-pop contest 2017 organized by Korean cultural centre India would take place all over India and in Nagaland on July 1 under the banner of K-POP world festival. This year K-pop contest India celebrating the 6th edition started a journey to the grand finale in the biggest size ever.
K-POP is described as a modern form of south Korean pop music covering mostly dance –pop, pop ballad, electronic, rock, hip-hop, R&B etc. 
Last year, Priyanka Mazumdar from Guwahati Assam won the first prize in vocal category at the K-pop contest 2016 India and participated in the K-pop world festival at Changwon South Korea where she bagged the 3rd prize representing India from 65 countries participants.
