
The newly constructed building of Ao Senden dubbed “Aor Kilem” was inaugurated today. The inauguration program for the building was held at the premises of the new building located opposite town hall where fire & emergency service office was previously located. Minister of Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Imkong L Imchen graced the program was the chief guest.
Speaking at the program, the minister said that the present location of the building had a historic significance since the last century. He narrated how the location was used by the Nagas since the time of Naga Club and it had withstood thus far paving the way for a grand building belonging to the whole of Ao community.
He went on to add that the building would be used where Aos will gather to “speak out the truth”. He also stressed on the notion of strength in unity stating that a nation crumbles when there was no unity. He added that there was strength in unity and urged the people to remain united and stand together in one voice in order to succeed. He also wished the building to continue to stand through the ages.
Earlier in the program short speeches were delivered by Temjen Toy addl. chief secretary, Sachin Jaiswal ADC Mokokchung, Imolemba Jamir, ex-president Ao Senden, Kichu Kidong Mokokchung village and chairman Sangtemla Ward. The welcome address was delivered by Imliyanger Jamir president Ao Senden and the vote of thanks was delivered by S. Temsu Aier, general secretary Ao Senden. The program was attended by parliamentary secretaries C. Apok Jamir and Imtikumzuk besides representatives from all the six ranges, ENPUM and other officials.
