Department of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Nagaland University conducted one day training programme on July 17 at Atoizu and Aotsakilimi village on the topics “weed management and preparation of tomato pickle”.
A press note by KVK, NU Zunheboto sr. scientist and head, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia stated that along with the training, maize sheller were distributed to the trainees from the department.
Resource persons were SMS (genetics and plant breeding), Dr. Visakho Shunyu and programme assistant (home science) Narola Anichari.
The release stated that the idea of imparting this training to the farmers was to make them aware of the utility of tomato not only for daily consumption but also to preserve it in the form of pickle. Altogether 31 participants from Atoizu and Aotsakilimi villages attended the training.
KVK Mon: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mon, Aboi, Nagaland organised farmers training on “management of gundhi bug” on July 19 at Langmeing village.
The resource person, subject matter specialist (plant protection), Martha Chakruno, deliberated on the use of improvised plastic funnel with rotten crab inside the trap for the management of Gundhi bug. She also imparted on rodent management. Altogether 35 farmers attended the training programme. Improvised plastic funnel crab trap and roban were distributed to all the participants.
