Soil & Water Conservation department organised a farewell programme for the four outgoing senior officers of the department on July 31 at directorate conference hall.
The four outgoing officers are director Imkongneken, additional director Hevikhe Sema, project director Temjen Longkumer and joint director Imtiyongdang Ao.
A press note by SCO (Forest) K. Khekiho Shohe, stated that, in his speech, commissioner & secretary, T. Nungsang Ao appreciated the outgoing director for initiating cadre review of the department and other innovative programs.
He advised the new HoD and his team to accomplish the programs which were in the pipeline and also conveyed good wishes to the retiring officials on behalf of Adviser to S&WC, Pukhayi Sumi.
Outgoing officer, Imkongneken Ao thanked God for blessing him with a long and satisfying career and stressed on the importance of hard work and unity among the staff. He also encouraged the officers and staff to work for the betterment of the department.
Hevikhe Sema said that he excited to venture into a new chapter of his retired life while Temjen Longkumer thanked the officers and staff for their cooperation and support. Imtiyongdang Ao, exhorted the officers and staff of the department to work cooperatively, understand each other and take the department to greater heights.
The programme was chaired by S.N. Singh, joint director, scripture reading and invocation prayer by superintendent Neizokhono and a special song was presented by Akani Awomi and friends. Bio-data of the outgoing officers was read out by Tebul Neikha, registrar; short speeches were delivered by Hetoho Y. Swu on behalf of outpost officers and staff and E. James Lotha, incoming HoD while vote of thanks was proposed by deputy director Dr. Kiyasetuo Vizo.
