
NBCC Clean election campaign Bikers rally organized by ABAM YM culminated at Ungma Baptist Church on August 5. After an eventful and productive first day on August 4 the campaign continued on the second day rallying in and around the state capital Kohima with the slogans “We want Clean Election and we stand for Clean election” headed to Botsa, Ao Baptist Church Wokha, Police Baptist church Alichen and finally arrived at Ungma where culmination programme was conducted.
Sensitization programme was held in all the above mentioned places with the speaker Rev. Dr. Mar Atsongchanger Executive Secretary, ABAM who is also the president of NBCC and NBCC clean election convener appealed the public not to get involved in mal practices during election but sensibly vote for God fearing leaders as good Christians.
He firmly opined that clean election is not against any political party nor in support of any political party but to have a prosperous future for the younger generation and that can only be attained through right and sensible voting.
Lamenting that the present political imbroglio and developmental paralysis are the direct results of ill-practices followed during election; and therefore, he added, that the people should make sure that they participate in the coming election with true Christian principles.
He further said, “Today we Christians are being victimized on many occasions and that the so called democracy seems to be disappearing in the country. If the same trend continues, unprecedented egregious situation may strike our land and therefore we should not vote for the party which is against Christian faith”.
In the culminating programme, ABAM president and Ungma Baptist church pastor Rev. Noklen and called on the general public for clean election and thanked bikers for their commitment and urged them to continually uphold the dream for with God all is possible.
Hundreds of people participated in the NBCC clean election signature campaign during the two days NBCC clean election campaign bikers rally which was a sign of people wanting change.
Youth Ministry ABAM secretary Toshi Sanglir, lauded LBES Youth Ministry for making the rally more appealing by joining ABAM in the campaign and assured to have more joint venture towards bringing peace and prosperity to our land.
ABAM expressed gratitude to administrations, church associations, churches and localities for the support, help and cooperation during this event through whose contribution the campaign was successful.
ABAM believes that in the coming elections every Christian in Nagaland will participate in all true Christian principles and disciplines.
