Council of Rengma Baptist Churches (CRBC) organized a consultative meeting with Rengma NGO leaders such as Rengma Hoho, Rengma Officers Forum, Rengma Students Union, Rengma Selo Zi and others on August 11 its mission Centre, Zunpha,Tseminyu.
A press note by CRBC president Dr. P. S. Lorin and executive secretary, Haiwalo Apon stated that the meeting had resolved to endorse the clean election campaign objectives of NBCC and CRCB. It also resolved to abide by the election code of “one man one vote” and to set up a common platform and would not allow setting up of party office in the villages. CRBC would also take measures to prohibit use of alcohol and other intoxicating substances and discourage open declaration of support in favor of a particular candidate/political party in the name clan/khel /ward/ community or village. It also urged and appealed administration and other law enforcing agent to firmly implement the election code of conduct for free, fair and peaceful election. CRBC would also co-ordinate with each other in all pertinent issues.
