Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) Burma Camp new building was inaugurated on August 21 by principal director of health and family welfare, Kohima, Dr. N. Bendang Jamir.
In his inaugural speech, Dr. Bendang Jamir highlighted the concept of communitization and reiterated the importance of community and the department working together towards the betterment of the society.
He also encouraged the medical staff to keep proper records of their activities and regularly submit reports to the higher authority. Dr. Bendang also assured to provide all necessities to make the UPHC a fully functional health unit so as to provide primary health care to the public.
Chef medical officer, Dimapur, Dr. K. Vikato Kinimi, acknowledged the struggle and hardship faced by the community and extended his gratitude and appreciation to the land donor and community leaders for their support and hard work in making the vision of health care for the public a reality.
The inaugural programme was chaired by MO in-charge UPHC Burma Camp Dimapur, Dr. Anguto and a brief introduction to the services and program of NUHM was highlighted by nodal officer, NUHM, Dr. Pusa.
Short speeches were also delivered by N. Sneti Jamir, ex-chairman, UNBB and Thompsu Jemu, chairman Walford Council while the vote of thanks was delivered by Longti, chairman, HCMC UPHC Burma Camp. The invocation prayer was led by Vihoto, convenor Sema Baptist Church, UNB-B and benediction was pronounced by the associate pastor of Lotha Baptist Church, UNB-B.
