The Duncan Bosti Council (DBC) condemned the August 24 raid by the Assam Rifles in the private residence of Robert Odyuo, a bonafide resident of Duncan Bosti.
A condemnation note by the chairman DBC, Yangertoshi Ao termed this act of Assam Rifles as gross and random violation of human rights.
It appealed and requested the Assam Rifles or security forces not to carry out or conduct such unnecessary random house searches on innocent civilians without prior and proper specific information by taking advantage of AFSPA or DAA.
It further appealed to the highest command/authority of Army to urgently review the matter in order to maintain a peaceful public-army relationship.
