Phek Town Youth Society (PTYS) has condemned the assault on a shopkeeper and threat to life allegedly by a functionary of the NSCN (I-M)
PTYS press secretary, KedupaVenuh in a press note alleged that one kilonser and steering committee member NSCN (I-M), Thupuvezo Keyho had beaten up a shop keeper and threatened the life of the house owner.
Phek Town Youth Society said Keyho was accompanied by one Kishore Singh when the incident happened.
As a mark of protest, PTYS said that Phek Town came to a standstill on September 7 where business establishment downed their shutters.
PTYS alleged that both the culprits were habitual offenders of Phek Town, despite their assurance to refrain from indulging in anti-social activities.
It said that the public of Phek Town condemned the unbecoming action meted out by a person in the rank of a kilonser.
Therefore, PTYS said the public of Phek town resolved that it would not to tolerate such action and further urged the NPGs to refrain from enrolling such people.
Phek Town Youth Society warned that if Thupuvezo is found indulging in such activities in the future, the public would take stringent action against him.
It also informed that the public of Phek town had filed an FIR against the culprit at Phek police station. PTYS has requested the authorities to deliver appropriate action.
Furthermore, PTYS said that the public have also warned the NPGs collecting cattle/cow tax from the dairy farmers or any other taxes from the public to desist from doing so and to abide by the “resolution”.
CRWU condemns: Chozuba Range Welfare Union (CRWU), Phek town has condemned the action of kilonser, NSCN (I-M) Phek village, Thupuvezo Kezo, who entered the house of Veta Dozo and threatened his wife, president Chozuba Range Women Welfare Union (CRWWU) Vedulu Dozo on September 7, 9 a.m at Bethel colony Phek town, without any rhyme or reason.
In a condemnation note, Chozuba Range Welfare Union Phek town, vice president, Ranyi Vero and general secretary Kudukhoto Tetseo demanded that the individual clarify his intention of intimidation within 7 days, failing which, the welfare would take its own course of action against him. Further, CRWU and CRWWU warned that the unions would not tolerate harassments of any sorts against its members residing at Phek town.
