AIR to conduct choral competition

To tap more talents and to encourage more choral groups in North East region, a North East Choral Music Competition is being organized by All India Radio, North East region.  
The preliminary rounds will be held in each capital stations of the North East and the winners will compete at the Grand Finale to be held on February 24 and 25, 2018 at All India Radio, Guwahati . 
Head of Programme, AIR Kohima has informed that the participating choral group should consist of 10-16 members, in the age group of 16-30 years. 
The Group will perform in English or local languages in which a gist translation should be provided. Each groups need to present three songs of five minutes each during the screening.  An amount of 1050 rupees in cash will be charged as processing fee. 
Cash prize money amounting to one lakh rupees, 50 thousand and 30 thousand, along with citations  will be awarded to the best three groups in the North East choral music competition.  
Meanwhile, AIR Kohima has informed that it will also be organizing a state level ‘Folk Music Competition’.  Interested choral and folk groups may collect forms at the office from September 14 onwards in between 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. from programme executive-Renubala, room number seven, ground floor.
