Condolence messages on demise of late Viyekha

Organisations and individuals have expressed pain at the demise of former MLA, Veyikha Ghaponza who passed away on September 18. 

NLA Speaker: Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Speaker, Dr. Imtiwapang Aier has expressed sadness at the demise of late Viyekha Rengma. In a condolence message, Dr. Imtiwapang described late Viyekha as a dynamic public leader who had dedicated his life for the welfare of the Naga people. Dr. Imtiwapang stated that late Viyekha was a man of principle and strong determination and in his death the state in general and for Rengma tribe in particular has lost a committed leader. Dr. Imtiwapang on his own behalf and on behalf of the NLA has further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the departed soul rest in eternal peace. 

NNPGs: Six NNPGs Working Committee in a condolence note has expressed deepest sorrow at the demise of late Viyekha Apon, ex-MLA. NNPGs stated that late Apon was the first MLA from Rengma community and his demise has created a huge vacuum. NNPGs stated that his noble work for the cause of Nagas as a dynamic leader would always be remembered and cherished. The six NNPGs extended its heartfelt condolence and prayed that Almighty God give strength and solace to the bereaved family members and also prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.  

Deo Nukhu: Advisor for Higher Education & NBHM, Deo Nukhu has expressed deep pain at the demise of late Veyikha Ghaponza and said his death was not only a loss for Rengma community and Tenyimi people but to the Nagas as a whole. Nukhu has also conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

RSZ: Rengma Selo Zi in a condolence note message has described late Veyikha Ghaponza as a true patriot, faithful regional politician.  

RSZ stated that late Apon was regarded as a fatherly figure among the Rengma Nagas and that his demise has created a huge vacuum in society. It stated that Rengmas have lost a guiding star and added that late Apon’s legacy and exemplary life shall continue to live among the generation as a gift. Further, RSZ has conveyed deepest condolence to the bereaved family and eternal rest to the departed soul.
