Langpangkong Students’ Conference (LKM) has vehemently condemned the poll-related clash resulting to properties damage on September 18-19 at Tuli.
In a press statement LKM Clean Election Campaign Committee (CECC) has condemned the reprehensible act of some irresponsible persons who used cash, arms and ammunition and storing cache of explosives and also method of violence. It stated that the action completely contradicted the principles and commitment of clean election.
After the incident, LKM CECC stated that in the presence of Langpangkong Tzükong Mongdang (parent body in the range) and LKM leaders a meeting was held on September 21 at Merangkong village with Merangkong village council members along with youth leaders. The meeting seriously deliberated upon the illegal activities and out rightly condemned such irresponsible action which has discouraged the movement of clean election in Nagaland.
LKM CECC has appealed all the intending candidates not to entice voters with cash or in kind but rather win the hearts of the people.
LKM CECC stated that it would continue its effort of consultation with all concerned to ensure clean election and appealed the public to be strong enough and resist the electoral temptations for the sake of future generation.
The LKM CECC members present in the meeting also resolved to recommit to the principle of clean election spearheaded by the church and the committee in particular.
