Dimapur district administration Dimapur district observed a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) on Gandhi Jayanti, Monday by organizing cleanliness activities in various parts of the district under the aegis of the district administration Dimapur in collaboration with district offices under the theme, “Swachhta Hi Seva”.
D block colony panchayat Kohima: D Block Panchayat Kohima organized mass social work as part of the regular activities of the colony in the heart of the state capital to keep the environment clean from Razhii junction till Assam camp on Monday. The social work was conducted as part of the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign, wherein hundreds of colony residents took part in the social work by clearing the drainage, weeds and sweeping the main road. The social was conducted under the supervision of chairman D block panchayat Kevisatuo Yhome and panchayat secretary Gilbert Patton. The panchayat informed that the colony has planned to fill the pot holes at the stretch of the colony finance by the colony in the coming days. (Correspondent)
Longleng: Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) under “Swachata Hi Sewa” campaign Longleng district along with the students’ and teachers of Good Shepherd High School Longleng conducted cleanliness drive at Longleng town starting from upper police point till District Hospital junction on account of Gandhi Jayanti. Brand ambassador Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) Longleng district, Longtam Phom who led the cleanliness drive applauded the school administration, teachers and students for continuously conducting cleanliness drive in and around Longleng town for the past 17 years till date. He also encouraged the school to continue with such social service as it would encourage the general public to maintain cleanliness in the society. In a separate programme the Longleng town council along with the district administration and Swacch Bharat Mission Longleng today launched Swachhata Pakwada under the theme ‘’Swachhta Hi Siva’’ at DC’s conference hall. Short Speech was delivered by Y. Khalak Phom SBM member while declaration of SBM pledge was initiated by Longtam Phom, Brand Ambassador SBM Longleng district. Medziphema: Swachh Bharat & Swachhta Hi Sewa (SHS) was organized by Medziphema town council at main town junction Medziphema with parliamentary secretary of Municipal Affairs Zhaleo Rio as the chief guest.
According to DIPR report, Zhaleo congratulated the public, NGOs and officials for observing the Swachh Bharat successfully in the sub-division. He urged the citizens for coming forward in the cleanliness drive, with aim to intensify and focus the sanitary life of the clean, green healthy life. He added that as chief guest and also as leader, he was required to take the lead for this sanitation drive, whereby he asked for mass participation from public, NGOs, church and other organizations. He urged the citizens to give continuous co-operation in the cleanliness mission to make a better and beautiful land. ADC Medziphema Vikhweno Chale on her Key note address urged the citizen of sub-division to keep Medziphema town clean and beautiful and for development of environment. The programe was anchored by Sentilong Ozukum, EAC, Medziphema, invocation prayer by Rev. Zhabu Therhuja, pastor, Town Baptist Church ‘A’.
TCP: One-day programme of Swaachhta Pakhwada under Town Council Peren (TCP) was held on October 2 at ADC’s conference hall Peren under the theme “Swaachhta Hi Seva”. Additional deputy commissioner Peren, S. Tainu highlighted on the Swaach bharat mission and encouraged the people to keep their surroundings neat and clean and maintain proper toilets for personal health and hygiene. She also appreciated the sanitary workers for their service render to the public. Felicitation on sanitary workers and administering of SBM pledge was done by brand ambassador Swaachh Bharat mission Peren, Abeiu Meru and short speeches were delivered by ward chairman union, Peren, head GB and president Peren youth organisation.
78 CRPF: 78 Battalian CRPF Zubza, Kohima organized a cleanliness drive at unit Hqrs and various places of Zubza villages under the leadership of Neeraj Yadav, Commandant. The campaign was launched on September 15 and culminated on October 2 at Unit Hqr by paying rich tributes to the father of the nation on his birth anniversary followed by taking pledge for maintaining cleanliness. Vive more toilets and one wash basin fitted with four taps with facility of running water, constructed on self-help basis, have been dedicated for the use of unit personnel on this occasion by the unit commandant.
NGA Chuchuyimlang: Nagaland Gandhi Ashram (NGA) Chuchuyimlang organized the 148th birth anniversary on October 2.
In the programme, main speaker on the occasion, associate pastor, Chuchuyimlang Village Baptist Church, Temsu Yaden spoke on the relevance of Mahatma Gandhi in the present day scenario. He exhorted the gathering to emulate four main principles of Gandhian teachings, namely, simple living high thinking, service before self, non-violence and vision of humanity. The day was marked with cleanliness drive by school children in the morning and competition of Mahatma Gandhi’s favourite Christian hymns which were presented by children of eight primary schools of Chuchuyimlang village and Chuchu town.
DBSU: Dimapur Bengali Student Union (DBSU) organised Swachh Bharat Abhiyan program at Dimapur railway station, NST bus stand and in some important places in town area at Dimapur city on October 2. A press note by DBSU media in-charge secretary, Rajat Ghosh stated that apart from office bearers of DBSU, advisor DBSU Bishnu Bhattacharjee and K K Paul participated in this event.
PVHSS: Students and teachers of Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School (PVHSS), Dimapur observed 3rd Swachh Bharat Diwas on October 2. A press note by PVHSS principal Manoj Bhattacharjee stated that under the supervision of teachers, the students cleaned class rooms of both campuses and part of railway bazaar area. It also stated while cleaning the railway bazaar area, the students came upon a open drain which was causing pollution and public health hazard. It therefore requested the concerned authority to address the problem at the earliest. Over-all works were supervised by Monoj Bhattacharjee and Lakshman Chandra Das, founder headmaster of the school took great initiative.
RJHSS: Ram Janaki Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur conducted cleanliness drive on October 2. Staff and students worked for cleanliness from Clock Tower area to Dhobinala Police Point, meanwhile school management and secondary staff and students worked in and around school, Thakurbari, GS Road, Dimapur.
SBI Dimapur: State Bank of India (SBI) Regional Bank Office (RBO) Dimapur on occasion of Gandhi Jayanti conducted cleanliness drive within the office vicinity on Monday.
AHSS, SHSS, CS &NPCS Chumukedima: Combined cleanliness drive was conducted as a part of Swachh Bharat Mission on October 2 by Agape Higher Secondary School (AHSS), Godwin Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Cosmopolitan School (CS) and Nagaland Police Central School (NPCS) at Chumukedima local ground. Students along with the teachers in-charge took part in the cleanliness drive.
VDB Chunlikha block: Village Development Board (VDB) K station village under Chunlikha block observed the Gandhi Jayanti by observing Gram Sarmridhi Evan Swachhata Pakhwada, village well being and cleanliness fortnight sanitation campaign-cum-VDB meeting on October 2 at K. Station village with the village functionaries, women VDBs and Eagle’s youth Club. The members carried out cleanliness drive within National Highway 61 tri-junction.
MCD: Members of Muslim Council Dimapur (MCD) took part in Swachh Bharat Mission along with DMC & other organizations on Gandhi Jayanti at Sikh Gurudwara Road, Dimapur.
SSU: Cleanliness drive was conducted by Sovima Students’ Union (SSU) in Sovima village under Swachh Bharat Mission on October 2.
GAT: Students of Grace Academy Thahekhu (GAT) also took part in the Swachh Bharat as tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on October 2.
DMC: Dimapur Meitei Council (DMC) executive members participated in Swachh Bharat Mission in Church Road, Dimapur on October 2.
