
The much awaited Art and Music Festival ‘Magnum Opus 2017’ will begin today at the Stone Garden, NEZCC Complex, Diphupar, Dimapur.
There will be various events including art seminar, exhibition and demonstration, cosplay, singing competition, poetry competition and live concert both the nights.
For art competition prizes for the two best artists will be Rs 3000, Rs 1500 respectively along with certificates and the results will announce on October 25.
The best artist will be given a chance to feature his/her works during the Hornbill festival for free and also put up their works for sale and exhibition which will be organized by Art & Culture Department, Government of Nagaland.
An art demonstration will be held on October 25 and for this event the organizers will provide the required canvases while the theme for the demo will be announced on first day of the festival.

Resource persons and judges for the art competition and demonstration will be Directorate of Art and Culture Kohima, Nagaland art executive-T Yanger Ozüküm and SASRD, Medziphema, art expert Limasangwa Aonok.
Artistes performing in the live concerts includes Tali Angh, Polar Lights, Mengu Suokhrie, Toka Chishi, Brainstorm Island, Toshimoa, Noise Mob, Ambush, Kubanglung, Imtiakum, Yellow Beacon, Muno Shiu and choirs from various institutions.
There will be photography workshop and exhibition which will be conducted by Nikon India in association with Synergy Systems and Dimapur Photography Club.
Singing competition with acoustic accompaniment will be held which will be judged by Tali Angh, Moa Subong, and Yanger Yaden. Winner of the competition will get free audio and video recording contract from Richa Productions and a Banhum sponsored by Abiogenesis.
Face painting, anime wallpapers, anime display, games, merchandise, mangas etc will also be part of the cosplay event.
There will be a workshop, competition and display on poetry with attractive prizes.
It may be mentioned here that the Act of Kindness has been organizing the event for the third year in a row.
The event has helped young and upcoming artistes, artists and followers of various arts to come together under one platform and share the joy of each other’s creativity and passion.
The festival has also been growing steadily with participants coming even from neighbouring states.
