National lok adalat was conducted at district court Dimapur by Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA) on November 11, wherein 33 cases were taken up and settled.
A press release by nodal officer for national lok adalat, Nungsang C. Jamir stated that cases were mostly dealt on banking matters, public utility matters and Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) with active participation by the banks and public service providers and amenable appearance by the litigants. The total settlement amount was Rs. 43, 36, 616 (Forty Three Lakhs Thirty Thousand Six hundred and Sixteen). The lok adalat proceedings were carried out led by the presiding judges aided by conciliators, lawyers and also the para legal volunteers. The proceedings were also conducted in local dialects.
