Scholarship issue: DNSU to launch first phase stir

November 28, 2017 | by admin

As a mark of protest for non-release of pending scholarship amount, the Diphupar Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has decided to launch the phase first of agitation in the form of poster campaign.
In a press note, DNSU president Kumlamo and secretary, Pitovi Achumi hit out at the state government and the concerned department for their “callous attitude” towards the plight of the students. “The decision of the government to release the scholarship on instalment basis was a mockery to the state’s education system and reflected the seriousness of the government towards the students, upon whom the future of the state and country lies,” it said.
Despite repeated appeals made to the state government by the students to release their scholarship, DNSU said the government paid no heed to their demands. This clearly showed its indifferent attitude towards the student fraternity, it added.
Therefore, in the interest of the student community, DNSU said it had “resolved to confront this injustice until every student receives his/her scholarship that is due to them.” DNSU said it would not hesitate to carry out further course of action if the government failed to act positively.
Meanwhile, DNSU appealed to all the right thinking individuals and organisations to support the student fraternity in this fight for justice.
