Tribal Union Chumukedima Town (TUCT) has informed that during its executive meeting on November 11, at Chakroma public organization hall, the house deliberated on various important issues and adopted several resolutions.
In a press release, TUCT president, Lhousito Khro and general secretary, Bendangwati Sangtam, informed that the house strongly resolved to implement in letter and inspirit ten points resolution adopted during the mass public rally on October 5, 2017 against the “menace IBIs”.
TUCT informed that that a copy of October 5, 2017 resolution would be endorsed to all the concerned members and authority for strict implementation and adherence thereon. It stated that the ten-point resolutions need no further elaboration as it was widely published in local dailies.
The house also resolved that any kinds of demands and taxation during the festive season in the name of national workers shall not be entertained at any cost since the Nagas has unanimously decided “One government one tax” which shall be strictly adhered to.
In the event of any elements trying to disturb the peaceful atmosphere within its jurisdiction, TUCT said it would take any actions which it deemed fit and proper.
On forthcoming state election, the house resolved to restrain its citizen from accepting cash money from the candidates during election and accordingly implement clean election called by NBCC.
The house also resolved to have further deliberation in order to find out ways and means to choose a consensus candidate so that votes are not split.
TUCT has also resolved to strictly enforce ban on sale of liquor/ alcohol and drug peddlers within its jurisdiction. It has cautioned that defaulters if found violating illegal activities shall be strongly dealt with, without any leniency.
In this regard, the house also urged upon the tribal units to warn their respective members to immediately stop such illegal activities, if any.
The house also resolved to conduct surprise checking comprising all TUCT members, ward GBs and chairman and council members of Chümoukedima village and Chümoukedima “A” village.
Further, house further their gratitude and appreciation to the administrator of Chumukedima town council and EAC Thejavizo Nakhro for personally supervising in the construction of drainages in the market area.
The release informed that Chümoukedima village council chairman along with his colleagues, 11 ward GBs headed by head GB, Chümoukedima town besides the tribal union executive members, tribal unit presidents and general secretaries attend the meeting.
