January 13, 2018 | by admin

Nagaland chief minister, T.R. Zeliang on Saturday formally inaugurated Akuluto town as a ADC headquarter on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said it was a red letter day for the people of Akuluto and VK areas and they could now look forward to more development and peace in the area.
On the need for upgrading Akuluto town to ADC headquarters, Zeliang said the government took the decision as Nagaland University’s headquarters was located at Lumami, which fell under Akuluto sub-division.
Expressing happiness on the upgrade, Zeliang extended his gratitude to former chief minister late Dr. Hokishe Sema and other pioneers who had contributed immensely to laying the foundation of Akuluto town.
He exhorted the citizens to renew their spirits for moving ahead with better vision as the up-gradation was happening many decades after it was upgraded to a civil sub-division in 1974.
The chief minister also urged the citizens to make use of the national highways that pass through both Akuluto and VK towns. Stating that soil of the area was fertile and ideal for cultivation, he urged the citizens to make use of the resources and achieve self-sufficiency in agricultural crops by 2022.
He also wished the people of Akuluto and VK area a bright and prosperous future. Earlier, Roads & Bridges and Political Affairs minister, G. Kaito Aye and parliamentary secretary for Youth Resources, Sports and Music Task Force, Khekaho Assumi also spoke on the occasion.
The chief minister was accompanied to the event by his cabinet colleagues, and it was also attended by Zunheboto’s deputy commissioner, superintendent of police and other government officials.
