CSU holds 70th general conference

Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) coinciding with golden jubilee celebration of Kiitsapo Students’ Union (KSU) held its 70th general conference at Kutsapo under Phek district on January 17.
Speaking at the programme, KG Kenye MP (RS) urged upon the students to be an asset and to contribute back to the great human community. Kenye stressed on the need to retrospect and look into the lifestyle, culture, traditional values, God given talents and virtues.
Referring to advancement of technology, he said that sometimes Nagas were a little too fast in copying others without differentiating good along with modernity, westernisation, civilization and advancement. In this, he said it was time for Nagas to be careful and filter what was good.
Stressing on the need to adopt honesty, dedication and hard work, he called upon students to revisit the past and be proud of the rich culture and tradition of Nagas. He also told the students to be wiser and matured and to contribute more to the Naga society.
In his speech, retired director Art & culture, Vevo Sapu said that one should be proud of who he or she was. He also said that Naga culture had been beautifully crafted and woven into colourful patterns, giving a unique identity than the rest of the other parts of the country.
He further challenged students to come and unite together through culture, encourage one another, build confidence and achieve greater height.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by COC co-convenor, Vevoyi D. Vadeo, welcome address by COC convenor Mutsikhoyo Yhobu, Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) president Kekhwengulo Lea exhorted the gathering while greetings was shared by Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) president Kesosul Christopher Ltu and CSU president Dode Nakro delivered presidential address.
