Makhuma Youth Organization flays AR raid

January 27, 2018 | by admin

Makhuma Youth Organization (MYO) Kigwema has strongly condemned the raid carried out by 9th Assam Rifles of Tsiesema (Chieswema) at Kigwema village on December 23, 2017.
In a press note, MYO president, Neisale Neihu and secretary, Khriesaralie Kiso alleged that the raid was nothing less than a fake encounter where one “Vizeto Yano, a bona-fide citizen was falsely accused with a nefarious pre-planted designed, planted pistol in his house.”
MYO claimed that the raid was carried, when every citizen was in peak spirit to forgive and forget in Christmas celebrative mood.  The organization said that the incident had proved to be a foul play by their own “unfortunate informant (delinquent youth)” who acted after being lured with no “reliable integrity”.
MYO also asked the authority to stop operating on the tip off by such unreliable persons. Further, the organization claimed that Vizeto is the son of Siesa Yano, a recognized licensed gun-smith of Kigwema and Kohima, who has been repairing guns for over 50 years like muzzle loading guns and shotguns used by the people during festive and ceremonial occasions.  MYO therefore, said Siesa should not be treated like a common criminal. The organization also termed it as unfortunate that the personnel from Khuzama police station failed “to act and support the falsely designed raid by giving false witness without ascertaining the fact”.
Further, MYO challenged the authority to investigate into the case to bring out the facts and to justify the action for trespassing into the village’s strongly set up administration. They also demanded that the authority to conduct forensic test on the weapon claimed to be seized and proof the reliability of their action.
