Dr. Jamir refutes

Nagaland’s senior-most veteran politician and Odisha Governor, Dr. S.C. Jamir, accused of alleged meddling in state elections earlier by the NDPP and then BJP, has reiterated that these were conjectures.
Responding to the allegations in a telephonic talk with Nagaland Post Thursday, Dr. Jamir maintained that he had visited one home in Mokokchung and by doing so “it cannot be described as a campaign as I have not violated either the constitution or the code of conduct”.
Dr. Jamir said that he was in his home town for getting two families together to resolve their differences and bring about reconciliation between them. “I have only responded to requests to initiate the reconciliation and if doing so is described as election campaign, then I don’t understand the logic”, said Jamir.
Further, Dr. Jamir reiterated that he has not gone out to canvass or campaign for his son as his visit was coincidental.
He said those political parties hurling the allegations were only trying to malign his name to gain some political mileage.
