Various programmes and trainings are being held across Nagaland for the ensuing general assembly elections scheduled to be held on February 27.
DIMAPUR: Second phase training for presiding officers and first polling officers for the forthcoming Nagaland Legislative Assembly election was conducted at Dimapur College on February 16.
According to DPRO, DC & DEO Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel urged the polling personnel to sincerely perform their assigned duties and also to get hands on practice of the VVPAT machine.
KOHIMA: Training on webcasting system for polling was conducted on Friday at DPDB Conference Hall, Kohima.
According to DIPR report, the master trainers were deputy director, National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Morimenber Amer; assistant librarian & information officer, K. H. Nanda; senior technician assistant, NIELIT, Moasunep Kichu and T.H. Thomas.
While stating that Election Commission of India (ECI) has instructed the state government to identify certain polling station for webcasting, Morimenber Amer exhorted the trainees to take it as an opportunity and give their best.
Senior Technical Assistant, NIELIT Moasunep Kichu stated that 555 polling stations in the state have been selected for poll webcasting and 64 polling stations from Kohima were selected.
The trainees were given demonstration on how to install and operate the webcasting system at the polling station, which is to be installed one day before the poll.
2nd round of training for polling personnel: 2nd round of training (group familiarization) for presiding officer, 1st polling officer, 2ndpolling officer, 3rd polling officer, additional polling officer for VVPAT and Grade IV was conducted on Friday at Razukhrie GHSS Kohima.
According to DIPR report, during the training session for all the polling personnel, Sr. Lecturer, Government Polytechnic Kohima, Er. Hangkum Saochan; Lecturer GPK, Er.Viketol Thou and Sr. Lecturer GPK, Er.C. Erenpeni Tsanglao highlighted on “poll star” which is a mobile APP for Andriod Users.
Training on web casting and videography was imparted to the presiding officer and 1st polling by assistant engineer NEILIT, Er. Benti Wanth and technical officer NEILIT, Orendro Kumar.
In the 2nd Session, the District Level Master Trainers (DLMTs) conducted practical training for all the Polling Officials.
TUENSANG: Tuensang District Election expenditure monitoring cell conducted training ON Friday at the Conference Hall, of DC Tuensang. The training was attended by all the political parties of Tuensang district.
PUGHOBOTO: Second Randomization of EVMs and VVPATs for the 13 Pughoboto Assembly Constituency was held in presence of the Pughoboto General Observer, Mahesh I Patel, on Friday at the customary court hall Pughoboto.
According to DIPR report, general observer, did the setting of all the candidates in all the EVMs and VVPATs for the 33 polling under 13th Pughoboto which was witnessed by the ADC & DEO, Pughoboto Avelu Ruho, RO Tiayanger, EVMs &VVPATs Nodal officer Nhututa, political parties representative, master trainers and others officials.
BEL Engineers for FLC & VVPAT, Bangalore, Shubham Chauhan and Gaurav Kumar thoroughly checked the machines and carried out the randomization as per the procedure. The 171 BSF ‘C’ Coy Panjipara, North Bengal Jawans provided security during the process.
PEREN: Inspection of Expenditure Register for 6th Tening and 7th Peren assembly constituency first round was done on February 15. Expenditure Observers, Saikhanthang, informed all political party agents to maintain and produce expenditure register properly.
Signature campaign: As part of the clean election, a signature campaign was launched in Peren district, by DC&DEO, Peren, Smita Sarangi, on Friday at Jalukie. The campaign is aimed at promoting the cause of clean election in the district. Students from different institutions took part on the first day of the campaign.
