WVC bans hunting; trapping within its jurisdiction

The Wokha Village Council (WVC) has strictly banned hunting, trapping and use of electricity (battery) and chemicals in rivers within the village jurisdiction. 
A press release by WVC secretary, Zuchanbemo Kithan stated that the council also prohibits plucking of wild flowers (Rhododendron etc) and taking away of any forest medicinal plants and herbs from Mt.Tiyi reserved forest. 
WVC said that violators would be apprehended and fines imposed on them as per the severity of the violation and the damages. WVC has informed all concerned that youth volunteers would be keeping regular vigil.
WVC further cautioned that defaulters of the above strictures, the person or party would be held solely responsible it would invite seizure of their materials and penalty as per WVC resolutions.
The council has therefore requested all citizens of Wokha town and general public to co-operate for the upliftment and betterment for the future.
