Saringyim veterinary dispensary under Mokokchung district was formally inaugurated by director Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services Nagaland, Dr. I. P. Khala on March 24.
A press release issued by VAS (Public Health), Dr. Aoyimsen Jamir stated that Dr. I.P. Khala thanked the Saringyim Village Council (SVC) for allocating land to set up the veterinary dispensary. He said that Saringyim, being a border village, had strategic importance for the veterinary department in the control and surveillance of trans-border diseases, besides, the area itself is blessed with abundant natural resources and favourable climatic conditions. He encouraged people of the area to rear livestock and poultry on large scales.
The inaugural program was chaired by CVO Mokokchung, Dr. Salangtemjen, a short speech was delivered by the chairman of Tsurmen village on behalf of the area people, and the vote of thanks was delivered by chairman Saringyim, A. Konang. The program was attended by officers from the directorate led by joint director, Dr. L. Temsu Jamir and officers from Mokokchung district.
Earlier in the day, the director also launched Village Piggery Development under RKVY 2017-18 at Nokpu village where breeding boars, feeds and equipments were distributed among the villagers.
