NUNTSA red flags poor quality road

May 17, 2018 | by admin

Nagaland University Non-teaching Staff Association (NUNTSA) has expressed concern at the poor quality of road construction from Sumi Settsu in Mokokchung to Nagaland University headquarters at Lumami.
In a letter to national highway 61 executive engineer, NUNTSA president Temjenmenba and general secretary Toboka alleged that within a few weeks of its construction potholes had appeared due to use of inferior raw materials and poor workmanship.
Calling for urgent inspection of the road, NUNTSA sought for instructions to be issued to the contractor for carrying out quality work by using good quality materials, besides ordering the contractor to repair the damaged section of the road at the earliest.
Being a longstanding demand for construction of quality road between university headquarters and Mokokchung, the letter mentioned that everyone was elated when they noticed that work on the crucial road had begun. However, they were soon disheartened to find the poor construction quality of the road, the letter added.
