The United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC), while inspecting the ongoing road repairing in Kiphire on Thursday, expressed indignation over the poor quality of workmanship.
Interacting with R&B officials, USSC vice president, Sethrongba maintained that the organization had high expectations of the department especially in the road sector development, which has been sidelined for decades. Sethrongba said that it could not be compromised at any cost. While stating that USSC wholeheartedly welcomed development, it asked the R&B department to utilize the opportunity when all stakeholders were extending all help and co-operation towards the department.
USSC general secretary, Selicho also remarked “What is the use of road repairing if the road which is constructed cannot even last for a day?” He asked the department to judiciously use the funds meant for development for the benefit of the general public.
USSC further stated that it would not remain a mere spectator but see to it that development meant for the district was implemented. It may be mentioned that the PDA govt has sanctioned funds for road repairing in every district in Nagaland.
