“Women are equally responsible and that they have a big role in keeping peace and in nation building.” Abeni Ovung said this while addressing members of Lotha Eloe Ekhung Dimapur-LEED (Lotha Women Union Dimapur), at the induction programme of the newly elected office bearers of LEED, as speaker, held at Lotha Hoho Ki here on Friday.
She urged women folk to take up their assigned responsibilities with strong determination. She also told the gathering that in every organization, unity was needed in order to move forward and it was everyone’s responsibility to extend their support and cooperation so that the union could become stronger.
Further, acknowledging that everyone makes mistake including leaders, she appealed to women folk to correct the mistakes of their leaders instead of criticizing them.
“Sometimes there may be shortcomings in our leaders, that is when it is our duty to correct them in the right way”, she added.
She also reminded the women folk that leaders needed their prayer and support and that it was their duty to pray for the leaders.
The new team was dedicated by Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur (LBCD) women leader, Meribeni Lotha.
