Lieutenant General P.P Malhotra, Vishisht Seva Medal, Director General NCC (DGNCC) arrived at Kohima on Wednesday, on the second day of his visit to Nagaland.
According to PRO Defence, Lt. General Malhotra interacted with NCC cadets and associated NCC officers from various schools and colleges of Kohima region. In his opening statement to the cadets he appreciated the excellent performance of NCC in Nagaland and commended the hard work being put in by officers and cadets alike. He expressed happiness for the opportunity to have an open interaction with the “cheerful and motivated” cadets from the state. He impressed upon the cadets the importance of self discipline and taking pride in their uniforms.
Lt. General Malhotra also visited Kohima War Cemetery and paid homage to martyrs of World War–II. He appreciated the efforts of the Nagaland government in maintaining the world famous war memorial in excellence. Thereafter he visited 1 Nagaland Girls Battalion NCC and 24 (I) NCC Company, Kohima where he was briefed by the commanding officers of each unit about the NCC enrolment progress and other NCC activities.
In the afternoon, the General Officer visited NCC Group Headquarters at Kohima where he was briefed by the Group Commander, Brigadier SS Dhankhar on various issues particular to NCC functioning in Nagaland. He was also given an update on the latest achievements of the NCC Kohima Group and its units.
